I get home from work today and had the shock of my life! There was Jonah....at the back door.... smiling and wagging his tail happy as a clam! I know when i left this morning that i latched his "whale". How or when he got out, I'll never know! Best thing was that there was no trail of mass destruction!

We went to the vet yesterday for the parvo booster and found out the "moose" weighs in at approximately 66#!! It was hard to get an accurate weight because he kept slipping a foot off the scale. I guess he's sensitive about his weight. One of the techs asked Jonah if his daddy planned on trimming the hair above his eyes so he can see better. It looks so cute, I hate to cut it. Any advice on that?

They do have the most expressive eyes. My doods don't get trimmed above/between the eyes at all.... but we like the scruffy look and our doods aren't fleecy. Our last dog was an Old English Sheepdog, so doodle eyebrows are all the rage around here!

I'm convinced, natural it is. If he starts bumping into walls, then we'll gel it up and make him a punkdoodle!
we have gel here not being used anymore...want it?

Denver is really starting to get more of that "scruffy look"
I love it but was also wondering as to his seeing ability and whether I should trim him I will wait for now. Denver is 7 months old and weighs
just a little shy of 70lbs. Should I be scaredLOL
The picture below shows the start of his scruffy look and of course how much he liked to wear those antlers(not)

Well, Sue, if that sweet boy is 70 lbs and still lets you put antlers on him...you have nothing to be afraid of!
So cute!
I love the scruffy look too. I finally did trim Nito's hair around his eyes because his coat is so thick he really could not see...poor boy, they'd play ball and he'd hear it whiz by and stand there trying to look in every direction...but seeing nothing! He still looks very scruffy though...I won't change that.
Wonder how Jonah escaped...smart boy, eh? 8)

Sue...wow you've got one heck of a pony!!! 70lbs!!! hahahhaa
Personally I love the scruffy look.

I know of other breeds that you are NOT supposed to trim the hair around the eyes. LIke Comodors, Pulis, sheep dogs etc.

But with doodles maybe us women have a deep desire to be hairdressers?  Denver is adorable in those antlers!!!! I needed a good laugh this morning....thanks!
