Thank you Jac

I like your wording ,although lenghty it gives you the right to make the final call , Good move

I think you covered about all you need to ,,do you mind if i use some of your wording?

I used to give a lifetime guarantee, few issues arise,,however with HD, its subjective ,,full refund does look good on paper, but how do you prove or disprove it was due to other factors or not,, I try to be as clear as i can on our guarantee, i have NEVER not replaced a pup, for any reason, seems some breeders are offering a full refund for something that can have other causes then congential

Guess i have been breeding showing ,,etc etc too long, seen to much,,,
although some seem to think i think i know it all that is not the case, i have been a vet tech, raised trained showed dogs most of my life (from age 16yrs old) im now 50,,,,I certainly hope i know a bit more then most
I may come across as a know it all,,that is not the case, i am still learning, its hard to type and talk and not offend, I never mean to do so, i hope i havent ,,although im sure i have according to one source,
I have learned alot in the last few days..... for one some people i thought i knew and cared about are 2faced,, sad fact, hurts quite a bit,,but i am sure that is what it was meant to do,,
In any case I will do what i KNOW to be right by my dogs, and my clients
its worked for me for over 20yrs ,,and i will continue to care and do what i need to do to make everyone as happy as i can

Well your doing great im sure

These comments were not actually made in open forum ,,it was comments sent to me by a person that shall remain nameless ,,supposedly from people that had IMed him!!! in private, talking behind my back not having the balls to say it to my face because they know its untrue or they are just being catty,,typical of most forums, certainly didnt expect it on this one,,,but guess i should consider the source

I have been offering a refund back once training is complete, i loved that idea and it makes for a better pet and a more educated owner which saves alot of rehomes later i think

Fortunatly i havent had to refund many times,,,Not one time for HD, knock on wood and praise the lord,, since i have began breeding doodles over 5yrs ago, almost 6yrs
which i guess that speaks highly of the quality dogs i have in my program
So i guess im doing somthin right,,

I feel if you hear somthing you should go to the source rather then read somthing into what you think they know or are trying to start somthing, and keep it going, in this case is exactly what happened, im sure egged on by other Jealous breeders, sad for them ,,and too bad
they are cuttin off their nose to spite their face

I have always been here for anyone that needs me try to offer as much info as i have to assist anyone, and there seems to be preconcieved opinions that keep the fire burning so to speak,,and i know who they are btw ,,,,
Just really really sad

Boy you got that rite

You sure are so right there Linda
Its just no matter what ,,,,we are all breeders not god,
unfortunatly we cant predict the future no matter how much we wish we could,,
We can test till the cows come home still its all in how the genes fall, There are NO genetic markers for most things that people want to call congential or genetic, so its tottally impossible for us to predict ,,,NOT to mention what some of these people allow the pups to do once in they get them home, I sometimes feel like they think,,oh well we dont have to worry ,,we will get our money back if we let the dog do things that will injure it in the long run,,This i think gives them free reigh to not keep the pup safe,,am i making sense here?

I believe proper nutritition ,handing, protecting from over stress of bones and joints, during growth is essential when dealing with Hip/Joint issues, My vet checks joints when we do well pup check ups, extensively, if there is a Real problem we can tell then normally,,the tightness comes as they mature, and i feel and my vet agrees they are not fully mature until close to 2yrs..
you take on a puppy ..you take all responsibilities that go with it,,just like a child,,In fact these should be considered your child, they depend on their families for everything, including protection from themselves,
Sorry so long,,these points have just be weighing heavy on my mind

I too am not a breeder and wonder about refunds. I sometimes think a 2 year guarantee is EXTREMELY GENEROUS. But understand why you would.

I am with AnnieG , i say it depends on the circumstances and it pays to do your homework
I wonder the same thing, since as i stated above these are living beings
most genetic problems present themselves within the first year, ie,eyes, seizure as annie discribed, blood problems, etc, (all i could think of right now)
I dont put HD in the same category,, its a crap shoot no genetic marker and to many if ands or buts involved,,
May just do life threatening for 5yrs ,pup replacement ,, like i used to do,,this gives the families more incentive to take better care of pup while it is maturing, are you on my thought line ?? or am i way off?

One more thought on this....because I know the HD is a possibility in any dog, I purchased an insurance policy that would cover a good part of the cost if GFB this occured...I felt it was my responsibility as a pet owner.
That is such a great idea,, and a smart move,, may i ask what insurance you have? and how you like it so far? if its worth the cost?
See NOW that is VERY responsible!!! and i commend you for thinking ahead :)

i want to join and offer to my families,,im not sure how that would be able to that work out ,or if it would have to be associated with a organization, if so we would have to form one, think the first thing would be to talk to the company and see what they can come up with

I would be very interested in a group rate insurance. I don't buy insurance because with 10 dogs, by the time I pay the premium I could pay for many vet calls...although it is a gamble, I elect not to insure. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose!
I hear ya there ,, The only way i could afford it is if it was a group rate and then rite now that would be a challenge,
how are you jac is all ok in your neck of the woods?
I have been MIA latly its taken a bit to get back on my feet after the surgery but thankfully im doing a bit better
have missed you all
