So is a 1700 square feet house able to hold two doodles, three kids and parents? That is the question.?. :D

I was cleaning out the upstairs closet and I was thinking I must be crazy. But then I know another dog won't change anything other then more poo to pick up outside, more socks missing and a few other things.(that reminds me I better do that a few time this week and next. ((We are putting up of fence next weekend.)) Only 17 more days till we get our little boy)

I guess I am a bit excited. I have got almost everything. I still need the Kennel and a Black Kong. I have time. But I feel like I need to get it all now. But if I would I would go crazy just waiting. Right now I can tell myself you don't have everything so you can't get him yet.

We told our boys they just can't wait to met him. We keep talking about what he will be like. They can't wait to play with him. Cacao loves to play but as my oldest has said she is a girl. I guess us girls need to stay together.

Anyway 17 more days and I am excited. Can you tell? lol  :D

don't worry about the house size :) You'll have a fenced yard and that's great for running and burning off energy. Our doodles manage to wrestle and play in the house too...we have 1500 sq feet; 2 adults and 2 doodles ;)

no doubt there s plenty of room..Toby s brother and sister are so
unassuming in the house..they find their favorite place and just lay
down..

Sabrina, on the backrest of couch in the living room..Lucky, under a blanket in my computer room. And Toby, at my feet..

When i notice Toby not at my side or at my feet i begin to worry..is he eating the house or playing with a chew toy :? at which time i wish i had a smaller house..

i know everyone like pic..so do i :D
Nap time

Some big brother bonding

know what? my house is TOO BIG
and so lately when Max steals a sock, he then gives it to Peanut who waits around the corner
I then go the other way to head her off at the next pass
BEAU somehow manages to have the sock , then Max gets it

long story short: big houses with big open floor plan ....lets doodles PLAN Major relay races with socks! hahhaaaaaaaa

on a serious note...if you're house were 860sq ft yes i'd say that was small as that was the size of my 1st home.

Doodles also are nimble/agile and rarely knock things over in doodle runs and wrestling matches along with tug of war championships.

and I can FEEL your excitement way over here Samantha hahhaaaaa
OH did you tell Cacao yet?   :D

You know Annmarie we really haven't told Cacao. We have said just want till your BIG brother gets here. But other then that not much. She has seen some new toys come into the house but they are put up till he gets here. She will love to have a live in playmate.

By the way as my son told me this morning we only have 16 more days.

:D :D   :D :D

Excitement over here too! I can totally relate to your wanting everything done first. We had our xpen up three weeks before the puppy was ready and his "daytime" crate set up two weeks before. With all kinds of toys in the pen. It drove the cats crazy because I wouldn't let them in the pen.

Jenny, Annmaire and everyone Thanks for everything. As soon as I get him home I will post pictures. We are excited here. And as you all can tell this is a very happy decision for my family. We have all talked it out. And the kids and dh are so ready. Only 14 days i think or so. I will have to ask my middle son. He told my mother-in-law all about the dog at dinner tonight. (we went out for mothers day with my mother-in-law) It was so cute. He said you know we are getting another dog and he will be OUR dog...not mommys. It was so sweet.

Delurking... YES to Adding a Dog

Samantha,

I see you've caught the doodle addiction. (Just ask Gene!)

I've got four adults in my great room (one of whom sometimes works the perimeter of the room, pretending she doesn't notice last year's pups), with another puppy pile due any day now... Yes, it works.

You may be climbing over crates until the new puppy is potty trained and through the chewing stage (Did you know that the chewing stage lasts beyond the adult teeth coming in because it's the chewing behavior that sets the new teeth?), but the dogs will have a blast chasing one another, and there will never be a dull moment.

Best wishes, and keep us posted! Pictures!
